The New Forest is an area of oustanding natural beauty occupying 93,000 acres of England's countryside.
This important wilderness has a wide range of habitats for wildlife. There are heaths, bogs, grassy lawns which are closely trimmed by the New Forest Pony, gorseland, ancient woodland, and timber producing areas called inclosures.
Some New Forest properties have rights of commoning as old as 900 years attached which allow the freeholder to graze his branded stock (ponies, cattle, sheep, pigs, donkeys) on certain areas of the forest.
This unique environment is cared for by the National Parks Authority and many small associations specialising in their own area of expertise.
Here is a selection of property offering accommodation services to the visitor to explore this wonderful area giving them the opportunity to sample at first hand this unique environment.
